The LGBT Resource Center at UCSD provides a visible presence on campus and enhances a sense of connection and community among LGBT faculty, staff, students, alumni and the UCSD Community. Let the LGBT Resource Center be your home away from home. We encourage you to get involved by visiting the Center and connecting with members of our community. Subscribing to the Rainbow Newsletter will give you up to date information on queer life at UCSD. We encourage you to participate in the student groups, LGBT peer support groups, and the UCSD LGBT Staff and Faculty Association.

This Week's Spotlight

In the Classroom: Gender Identity in K-12 Education

LGBTRC Conference Room, Wednesday, Nomber 18th @

Ever wonder how kids learn about gender? How did you learn about gender? Teachers, parents, and mentors throughout our education have taught us more than math, history and our ABC's. Some have taught us life lessons and some taught us all about gender and our roles. Come travel back in time and examine your school days before college and remember what and how you learned about gender. Maybe someday you'll pass on what you've learned. Light refreshments and snacks will be provided.
If you have any questions feel free to message nguerrer@ucsd.edu.

Bullying: An Age-old Problem That Needs New Solutions

 LGBT Resource Center, Thursday, November 19th, 2009 @ 5 pm -6:30 pm
Bullying has been around for as long as anyone can remember. Research has shown that bullying is a common but very complicated problem that affects all of us in the LGBT community, if not directly as bullies and/or victims, or indirectly as witnesses to interpersonal violence. Given the complexity of the issue, the solutions are not simple ones, at least not as simple as we’d like. Come join us as we explore; what is bullying?
